Pecan Pie

 

Ingredients

 

¼ cup butter

2/3 cup brown sugar

¼ teaspoon salt

¾ cup dark corn syrup

3 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup pecan halfs

 

Instructions

 

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy, add next 4 ingredients.  In pie shell sprinkle with pecans and pour the filling over the pecans.  Bake in oven at 450 for 10 minutes.  Then reduce heat to 350 and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until you can insert knife in center until it comes out clean.

Chicken Pot Pie

 

Filling:

 

1 chicken, boiled

2 pkgs chicken gravy mix

1 pkg country gravy mix

2 can mixed vegetables

6 cups chicken broth

 

Instructions

 

Boil chicken in large pot until done.  Let chicken cool, debone and separate.  Put chicken  and drained vegetables into baking dish.  Mix all gravy mixes according to the packages, and pour over top of the chicken and vegetables.  Heat oven to 350 degrees.

 

Crust for pie:

 

2 cups all purpose baking mix

½ cup water

 

Mix together and roll out on floured surface until about ½ inch thick and place on top to cover mixture and bake till crust is golden brown.
